Wednesday Wish List: That Sixties Swagger

This season there’s a big focus on sixties fashion. The decade has inspired a number of key AW14 collections – from Valentino to Gucci – and naturally the high street is following suit with a host of retro designs. I’m obsessed with Valentino’s statement midi skirt, but at £2,595 it’s far out of my reach; so instead I’ll be strutting around town in Boden’s more affordable option. Pair it with a tight rollneck sweater in burgundy or black and bow-detail flats to fully look the part.

I’ve also fallen head-over-heels for DVF’s leopard print coat. It’s not sixties inspired per se, but it definitely ties in nicely with the trend and is a great way to put a modern spin on the look. Just imagine throwing it over a pair of black skinny jeans and flat ankle boots in the middle of winter – it will instantly make an otherwise boring outfit impressive. I need it asap!
