My Style: Discovering the Myla London AW14 Collection

As you may remember, earlier in the month I met the creative team at British lingerie house, Myla London (you can read my interview with design-duo Tamsin and Minako here if you missed it). After seeing their stunning AW14 collection up close, and hearing all about the intricate design process behind every piece of Myla lingerie, I decided it was about time I took more of an interest in my own underwear drawer. After all, I’m happy to save up for a new pair of shoes or an expensive handbag each season, so why shouldn’t I look at luxury lingerie in the same way?

Tamsin suggested I start small, with either the ‘Isabella’ or ‘Nicole’ set, and then build up my lingerie collection each season with a new style. But the trouble is Myla offers so much choice, so to help narrow down my list of favourites they kindly let me try before I buy. Here’s a look at some of the pieces I made a beeline for…

The Isabella Padded Plunge bra definitely came out on top. It’s super-comfortable, the shape is perfect for day-to-day wear, and there’s a fantastic array of bright colour-ways. The midnight blue and lime green design is my personal favourite, with the zesty orange set coming in at a close second. They’re such happy colours.

I also fell head-over-heels for the subtly-sexy Roxanne Basque. The unusual metallic embellishment looks beautiful when it catches the light and shimmers, and the structured shape somehow gave my boyish frame curves. I felt so feminine and glamorous in that piece!

And, of course, there’s also the Myla London sleepwear collection. Some of the designs even work well as outerwear – the Arya slip dress (not pictured in this post) reminds me of 1990′s Kate Moss, and I would happily wear the Eden Short Robe with jeans and a T-shirt.
