How to Dress For the Winter Blues

How do you solve a case of the winter blues? By soldering on dressed head-to-toe in shades of blue. Well, that’s my solution, at least! I absolutely despise the cold, so was deeply unimpressed when a chill finally set over London at the beginning of November. Getting dressed each morning is now a battle between the heart and mind – UGG boots and down jackets are my deepest desire, but my head is telling me to toughen up and wear something fabulous. And that’s what lead me to Temperley London’s runway collection…

The ‘Isidora’ swing jacket is part of Temperley’s AW14 collection, and it instantly put a spring in my step. Despite the fact it’s not really a proper winter coat I’d still want to wear it all season. And you probably could, if you layered some Uniqlo heat tech and an ultra light down vest under there. The voluminous silhouette is very helpful, in that sense.

Jacket: Temperley London ‘Isidora’ (press office borrow)
Jeans: Paige ‘Jimmy Jimmy Skinny’ c/o
Hat: Anthropologie
Gloves: Dents (past season, similar here)
Bag: Karen Millen c/o
Plimsolls: Temperley London SS15 collection (press office borrow – high street option)

Sticking to the winter blues theme, I also wore Anthropologie’s pom-pom bobble hat and my favourite gloves from Dents. I bought them years ago and they still receive compliments whenever I wear them. Unfortunately Dents no longer do studding or embellishments, but the hot pink suede gloves from their AW14 collection are also very fetching.

Are you also suffering from a case of the winter blues? How are you styling out the situation? Leave a comment and let me know…
