Keeping Up with the Cambridges

Grab some biscuits and put on a pot of tea, because you’re going to be here for a while! This past week was fun for royal watchers so without further adieu, let’s get reading!

This Week:

  • June 10 – Sails away! Kate visited the National Maritime Museum to meet with the UK’s yachting team. Team UK is hoping to compete – and win – the coveted America’s Cup. The Duchess of Cambridge loves sailing, and her passion really shined at this event. She met with team captain, gold medal Olympian, and all around sexy accomplished Ben Ainslie who offered to take Georgie Porgie out on a boat! Kate said maybe in a few years. Read more here.

  • June 10 – Hats off to LEGO and Rachel Trevor-Morgan! The Queen’s milliner teamed with LEGOLAND Windsor to create an adorable, incredible Royal Family out of LEGOs! The collaboration was in celebration of this year’s Royal Ascot. The creation features a LEGO Buckingham Palace. On the balcony, we see (L-R) Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, Her Majesty The Queen, and Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge. Standing below, we have (L-R) Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie, Zara Tindall, and Carole Middleton. Oh what fun! I wonder if the set is available for purchase…

  • June 10 – Happy birthday, Prince Philip! The Duchess of Cambridge made her annual appearance at one of the Queen’s Garden Parties – this year, in celebration of Prince Philip’s 93rd birthday. The Duchess looked radiant in her Alexander McQueen dress and new shoes! Her bespoke hat was a masterpiece by Jane Corbett. Catherine enjoyed chatting with guests, and even came to the rescue of one who had fainted! Read more here.

  • June 12 – If the shoe fits…. it took us two day, countless e-mails and phone calls, and more than one “heated discussion,” but the Royal Clothing IDers came through. Kate’s gorgeous “creamy vanilla” pointed toe pumps are the 5th Ave style from Russell and Bromley. The shoe was from the Summer 2013 line and went to sale last year. The style in beige patent is completely unavailable, but they do have the style in beige suede. Kate most likely picked up the shoes when she purchased the Park Ave shoes and clutch so she would have a fully matching set. We would like to thank Ashley Marie and our lovely contributor, Gemma, for helping with this ID!

  • June 14 – Happy birthday, Your Majesty! This Saturday was the annual Trooping the Colour, a celebration of Queen Elizabeth’s birthday. Catherine looks positively regal and radiant in a bespoke Alexander McQueen suit and Jane Taylor hat. There was no sign of Cheeks (boohoohoo!), but it was such a treat to see Kate interacting with her Royal Family on the balcony. No one does pomp and circumstance like the British, and this year was no exception. Read more here.

Next Week:

  • June 16 – The Duchess of Cambridge is likely to attend the annual Order of the Garter ceremonies. Her attendance is not confirmed, but we hope to see her there!
  • June 18 – Kate will visit Bletchley Park, the location of the famous decoders during World War II. She will tour the renovated facilities and meet with WWII veterans who served as codebreakers.

Replikate

We spent so much time searching for Kate’s pointed patent shoes from the Garden Party this week that we absolutely fell in love with the style! This repliKate is a perfect Kate-inspired addition to your closet for summer. Pair them with a nude lace dress like the Duchess or with jeans and a pretty blouse!
