Keeping Up with the Cambridges-August 3

The Duchess of Cambridge was out and about twice this week at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland. The games are right up Kate’s alley as she is very athletic and loves any sporting activity (which makes her even more lovable to us). So grab a refreshment and let’s dive right in…

This Week:

  • July 28- What a good sport! On Thursday, Kate attended the first day of the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow along with Prince William and Prince Harry. The lovely trio watched gymnastics, swimming, and a boxing tournament, which resulted in some comical faces from the Duchess. She is very animated and gets very into things! Kate stuck with what she knows best in terms of her outfit choice for the day and wore her skinny jeans, Zara blazer, a sleeveless blue and white striped blouse, and Corkswoon wedges. She finished off the look with her Kiki McDonough citrine drop earrings and a new clutch called “Frome” by L.K Bennett. You know what they say, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!

  • July 29- Twice as nice! On Friday, Kate was back out again at the second day of the Commonwealth Games. On this occasion, she attended a SportsAid reception where she met with many athletes and ambassadors for the organization. She also put her athletic abilities to good use when she participated in a traditional South African game called “three tins”. Jumping over three tins in sky-high wedges is no easy feat, but leave it to Kate to be an ace! The Duchess was a vision in blue in her Stella McCartney dress, navy Smythe blazer, and her Corkswoon wedges. Looks like she had a fabulous time!

  • July 29- Prince of the pool! On Friday, Kate revealed one of George’s new favorite activities...swimming! That’s right, Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge is taking his delicious cheeks for a dip in the pool at Buckingham Palace. Kate told one of the champion swimmers at the Commonwealth Games that George loves the water and likes to grab things to splash with. On George’s 1st birthday, it was originally thought that Kate took him to visit Prince Philip, but looks like he had some pool time as well. Can’t you just picture Cheeks in little swimmies? Excuse me while I die from cuteness overload…

Next Week:

  • August 4- The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will travel to Belgium to attend remembrance services and commemorative events for those who lost their lives in WWI.
  • August 5- The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will visit a special exhibit at the Tower of London commemorating the official first day England entered the war. Ceramic poppies were made for each of the fallen and will be placed in the tower’s moat.
