Erika Sheffer

a big thank you. from the bottom of my heart. forealz.

In so many ways, I am just a beginner. I’m 24. I haven’t been around all that long to figure everything out or have all that many life experiences. I have gone out on a limb so. many. times. and sometimes I fall. Sometimes I don’t (but most times I do). But I have found that when you go out on a limb, follow your heart, take a risk – that’s where the magic happens. I’m not the best, an expert by any means, and I don’t have years of experience to back all this stuff up — but you can bet your bottom dollar I’m gonna be chasing my dreams until my last breath. And I’ll work my butt off to do my very best.

All of a sudden, today to be exact, I realized that I’m making it happen (I did it, Dad!). Somehow, I’ve made these crazy ideas come to life and I’m living the dream I talked about a year ago. I’m working for myself, and while a lot of the time I want to throw my laptop in the river, I am grateful. I’m not making a killing (yet), none of it is glamorous (yet), sometimes I feel straight up pull-my-hair-out-CRAY, and many times all I can do is have a drink (or three). But for some reason you have all believed in me. In my crazy ideas. In my sporadic endeavors. You believed in this blog, in my health coaching business, in my CrossFit obsession, and now in Honest Goodness. I have no idea what will be next, ha! I think I’ll be staying put for awhile, growing my business(es) and helping everyone I can. You guys keep me going, and I cannot say thank you enough. I am grateful for you, my amazingly supportive better half, the internet (I know, I know), people like Hey, Sweet Pea, IIN, and Marie Forleo, organic chocolate, my dog, the sunshine, and everything else that keeps me going. I have so much to learn, still. And much to improve on. But I’m not going anywhere.

And please. If there’s something that you want to do, well go ahead and do it. No one’s gonna do it for you, and I know you’re smart enough. Make things happen. Don’t be afraid to be a beginner. Work hard. Stay humble. You deserve to live the life you’re dreaming of.

**Update: I foolishly forgot to thank DuckDuck Collective, namely Matt and Karissa, for all the work they did for me and this blog. The photos all over this site are here for you to enjoy because of them, their creative spirits and their generosity. Words cannot do justice how thankful I am for what they did for Style Activist. They brought my ideas to life in a way I never could have envisioned myself. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
