Bare Minerals Collection Update

You may remember that at the beginning of September I purchased a BareMinerals 7-piece collection and wrote a little about it here. I promised that would let you know how I got on with the products, so I’m back to give you my opinions today. All of these pieces were new to me, given that I had only previously used the Ready foundation, the warmth all over face colour and the precision face brush, so I was excited to get started with them. Here’s my rundown on each one:

Original SPF 15 Foundation

I didn’t know how I would feel about this foundation, given that I usually prefer a medium coverage foundation and I’d heard that this could be pretty light, but I’ve been pretty impressed with how it’s gone. The coverage depends on the amount you use, as it’s super easy to build a couple of layers on top of each other, but it’s also nice to use this foundation when you just want a light covering of foundation, to even out tone, etc. It also feels really light on the skin, so you know it won’t be sitting heavy as the hours go by, and it keeps my skin matte pretty much all day. Overall, I’m impressed and would buy again if I was looking for a lighter foundation, probably during the Summer.

Clear Radiance All-Over Face Colour

I love how this illuminates my face in all the right places. It requires so little that this product is likely to last me a good year, and is just what I need to add a little colour and brightness over the top of my foundation. I apply it on the top of my cheekbones, at the top of my forehead, a little on the bridge of my nose and a little on my chin, and it really does have a beautiful, luminous look. This is one of my new favourite pieces.

Stroke of Light Eye Brightener

This is a great concealer for around my eyes, and does well to cover any dark circles or blemishes I might have when a light foundation just doesn’t do it. It lasts all day, I never find myself having to reapply and I also use a little underneath my eyebrows, just to highlight them a little bit. I can’t say whether it has reduced dark circles or fine lines in the long run just yet, but I plan on continuing to use this anyway, so that will be a great bonus if it turns out to be the case.

Flawless Definition Mascara

I instantly fell in love with this mascara from the first time I used it, and will be continuing to repurchase when this current tube runs out. I have long lashes anyway, but this formula does such a great job of lengthening my lashes without weighing them down and it reaches all those hard to reach lashes that can easily be left out. I’m quite fussy when it comes to mascara, in all honesty, so I’m really pleased to have found one that does exactly what I want it to.

Frame & Define Brow Styler

A fairly straight-forward product which does what it needs to in terms of filling in my brows, without them ever looking drawn on or artificial. Suits my tone perfectly, and with a handy brow brush at one end, it is just the right tool for perfecting my eyebrows on a day-to-day basis.

Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss in Go Getter

This is now one of my go-to lip colours. The perfect shade of pink, with plumping properties, which lasts so much longer than glosses I’ve used in the past, it’s just right for adding a bit of glamour to an otherwise natural looking face of make-up. I’m not usually the biggest fan of gloss, and would usually go with a neutral stick of colour, but this is a nice alternative when I want to add a pop of something shiny.

Flawless Application Face Brush

This brush is gorgeous for adding the mineral foundation or the all-over face colour, and is the perfect size for carrying around on the go. Soft and supple, it’s just what you need in a portable brush, just right for touch-ups through the day.

Overall, this set was a great buy – very reasonably priced, as I got in on sale, and full of products I’ll be using over and over again. As I’ve mentioned before, I’m not usually a fan of buying sets of make up as I feel a couple of pieces go untouched and are a waste of the cost, but this is definitely not the case here, and I look forward to continually using all of these items on a weekly basis.
