Do you bingo..

Bingo is a game loved by many and personally, I’ve had quite a few good times down the bingo hall with friends. I have to admit though I have never really thought about where bingo began, as with many things to me, it is just there, something some people like and something others don’t.

For me it’s not only the excitement of will your number come up that draws me to bingo, but also the time spent with friends, ok you might not be nattering all the time, but in between the silence you are bound to start speaking about just how close you were to that last full house and believe me, if you don’t end up giggling till your belly hurts you need to try again.

But back to my original thought – where did bingo begin? Where did this game we all know come from? Who decided that calling out numbers in a random order and seeing who get them first was a good idea? Perhaps we will never fully know everything about this great game – but we can certainly found out quite a lot, as this infographic shows.

It’s amazing to see how things have progressed, I wonder how bingo will be played in another 50 years, after all there was a huge difference between 1955 and the digital age, will we see another leap like that?
