REVIEW:
I totally get this is supposed to be a Christmas themed movie, but really, the message inside it can be good for any time or any season. With it being a musical movie, there was lots, and I mean lots of hymn-like or carol-like songs. I thought the music was exceptional, and was surprised by a couple of the actors voices.
The cinematography was really great. I loved how each scene faded in or out. The casting was clever too. I'm definitely surprised by Angela Basset and Forest Whittaker's singing voices. I had no idea the talent they possessed besides acting. Especially Forest. I am still blown away by the soft velvet voice that came out.
Watching this movie while it was Easter weekend reinforced the reasons I love Christ. It was such a decent film, from the story line, the cast and the songs. I recommend it to any who feel an affiliation to the Lord.
