Well, hello! You are looking at the newest bright eyed member of the GIGG team, Me! Here at GIGG, I will be social media-ing the living daylights out of you, cool? Perfect.
About a year and a half ago, I graduated from BYU-I in Opera Performance. I am a classically trained vocalist and have been taking lessons since I was about 12 years old. Growing up in Portland, I was raised in a very musical family. My Grandpa Leonard Lovin, was a country western singer and sang in a traveling band called The Desert Drifters back in the '50s.

Growing up in Portland, I was raised in a very musical family. My Grandpa Leonard Lovin, was a country western singer and sang in a traveling band called The Desert Drifters back in the '50s.
(that's him second from the right! What a dream boat!) He met my Grandma and produced 11 little singers. I grew up with family talent shows, musicals, recitals, jam sessions, the whole bit. My mothers side is equally as musically entrenched, with a all-star chuck sporting brother who can shred any Led Zeppelin song on command and a sister who studied classical flute at BYU (not the jazz flute...anyone else envisioning Anchorman right now?) I remember finding little songs my mom had written on the piano when she was little and feeling inspired by my older sisters who were always performing. My sister Natalie was a jazz singer at a restaurant in downtown Portland in high school and my sister Amanda studied Opera Performance as well at OSU. Just throw us in a colorful bus and call us the VanTrapp Lovin Singers because we are just that crazy about music.
As a music connoisseur and weirdo I saw this chance to write and post about GIGG and jumped at the opportunity. Through this new venture I hope to broaden others scope of music, as well as my own. I mean, is there any greater feeling? Going to a band's show for the first time, listening to an album for the first time, hearing that song on the radio for the first time. All you want to do is re-experience it and share it with every living soul in a 50 mile radius. "HAVE YOU HEARD THIS?" That desire to share is ingrained in us. I am passionately engaged in spreading good music, good vibes and good ideas. My hope is to connect us through this great and powerful force..because isn't that the point? I want you involved, every step of the way. Join me?
What better way to tell you about myself than through a song, right? This just kinda says it all. I come from North Carolina country roots, but I need me some good 'ol Rock & Roll. Plus isn't Jack White a complete vision?
