Happy 2014 | Have a lovely new year!
I'm a few days late, but I wanted to wish all of you a lovely 2014! Due to snowy Iowa weather and feeling under the weather, I spent my New Year's Eve curled up on the couch with pizza rolls and Spice World on television. So glamorous, I know. ;)
One thing I dislike about a brand new year is all the pressure to set goals and "get it right." 2013 was actually quite splendid. I don't remember what my resolutions were a year ago (let alone whether I kept them), but a lot of good things and a lot of accomplishments have happened for me this past year. So before I look forward into 2014, I have to take a moment to appreciate 2013's blessings. Getting to date a longtime crush (one of the best guys I know)! Landing a full-time job. Relocating to a new city. Getting my very own place – without roomies. I never imagined all of that would happen, but it's played out very nicely and I'm very grateful.
What do I want to accomplish this year? Well, I don't have a nifty little list or any plans drawn up. But I'd like to write more historical fiction, nurture my blogs and social media a bit more, master some new skills, grow professionally, live healthier, de-clutter and get organized, visit family more often, and travel to some breweries both in Iowa and beyond.
