I'm on a new quest. In the process of moving back into my bedroom after a bathroom flood and unexpected partial remodel, I've been editing my closet. I filled 3 boxes, most of which were pieces that I bought when I went back to work 3 years ago and wasn't really sure where I was going style-wise, after so many years of mom clothes. It's taken a while, but I've come to the conclusion that my style is classic, sometimes preppy, sometimes with an edge. It all depends on the mood, and the destination.
At this point, I pretty much have enough pants and jeans to see me through. And lord knows I don't need another cardigan! I've rounded up 5 pieces for my fall wish list that are classic and timeless, and will stand the test of time.
- Burberry London trench coat: okay, admittedly, this is a fantasy piece! I may try to find a trench that is a little more affordable. London Fog makes some, as do many other designers. We don't really have to deal with much rain in Southern California, so it isn't a truly necessary item for me.
- 3.1 Phillip Lim Pashli bag: I love this bag. Size, style, it has it all - so versatile. Yes, I will be saving my pennies for this, no doubt.
- Rag & Bone Classic Newbury Booties: While I love these booties, and know I would wear them, I really do need to see them in person and try them on. The price isn't bad if calculated price per wear, which I tend to do when justifying a purchase!
- Jimmy Choo Agnes pumps: another fantasy purchase. These are just simply gorgeous. Unfortunately, I don't wear heels often, and when I do, they need to be very comfortable (due to my back issues). I have several pairs of black pumps, and I can count on one hand the number of times I wear them per year. I just can't stop visualizing them with black skinnies, denim skinnies, etc., etc.! The price per wear on these definitely doesn't justify the purchase however.
- Clare Vivier Haircalf Fold Over Clutch: This is almost a done deal. I'm just waiting for the next Shopbop friend & family coupon!
