We got foils in at work and I've been having lots of fun with them as you might have seen on my instagram; @sophiesbeauty
I made a video for work showing how to use foils to create a cool grafitti effect with Gelish gel polish. You can do the same with normal nail polish, you just have to wait until the nail polish is almost dry; when it's in that sticky period towards the end. Here's the video;
We are about to get glues at work too so you can get the foil over your entire nail and I thought I'd make a step by step on how I use it. There are different types of foils; some are really blingy with silver backs and some are see-through like the leopard foils I use here. I really like the see-through ones most; they look really natural on the nail.
I haven't found a top coat that makes these last yet for more than a day, but I'll keep looking. So far through, these are a one-night thing. I'll be using them for events and parties.
Step 1: Start with a base color that suits your foil.
Step 2: Apply glue. It should be bright blue.
Step 3: As the glue dries, it will become clear. Wait until entire nail is clear.
Step 4: Apply the foil with the design side up. So backside of the design is down on your nail.
Step 5: Use a q-tip to make sure you push the design down on your entire nail. As the design sticks to the nail, it will release from the form.
