Coffee Talk v.6

  • YOU GUYS. I know this is SO last week's news...but my hair was on BUZZFEED! So what if it was a photo of my sunglasses stuck in my hair? Hey...I'll take my 15 minutes any way I can get it. In fact, I got emails and text messages from friends I hadn't talked to in YEARS because they saw that article. Proof that if I ever won the lottery, I'd probably have to go into hiding. Nevertheless, it was a fun day for me. Original photo can be found here.
  • A friend posted
this hilarious video on my FB timeline this week. If you guys knew Tuck, my adorable mini-weenie dog, you'd know that this is EXACTLY something he would do. Not to mention, the pup in this video looks almost exactly like him! What funny little dogs they are. And determined! Gosh, I can't wait to see my boy again.
  • And then I found this weenie dog water race and died from adorableness overload. DIED.
  • Ok so be real with me, you guys are lying about liking coconut water, right? You've got to be. It tastes like dirty bath water. Surely no one really likes it. Help me understand!
  • Speaking of healthy things...we've got 65 days until our cruise (yay!!) and I've been amping up my workouts and getting back into the swing of following my favorite Tone It Up nutrition plan. Have you guys ever tried TIU? I really love it. One of the only workout/nutrition plans I've ever stuck to and had results. There's just something about watching someone workout in a bikini that really makes me want to try harder. Probably the abs...and the fact that they can do almost any workout move and not have a boob pop out. I'm constantly impressed.
  • If you have MyFitnessPal, follow me and keep me accountable...pretty please?
  • And I have to tell you this last health-related thing…I swapped my usual TIU series of workouts today to try a new
HIIT Cardio & Abs Tabata-style workout I found on YouTube. I made it through 45 minutes before my living room got so hot that I had to stop for fear of passing out. HARD. CORE. 4 weeks ago, I would have stopped at 20 minutes. Progress, people. Progress. Give it a try and tell me what you think!
  • D and I are total TV bingers. This article, it's us. So us. Lately, we've been binge-watching House of Cards, Mike & Molly (so dang funny) and this week, we finished Breaking Bad (thank you for finally posting those last 8 important episodes, Netflix!). Up next will probably either be Entourage, Homeland (we never finished season 2 or 3), or Downton Abbey (although D's gonna need some convincing for that one). Thoughts?
  • Speaking of TV shows (you had to know this one was coming), we've finally reached the end of Juan Pablo's Bachelor run. Praise the Lord! Raise your hand if you knew he was going to pick Nikki? {raises hand} Now, raise your hand if you thought she'd accept his rose AND sit on the couch snuggled up to him on 'After the Rose' even after he refused to tell her he loves her? Yeah, me either. What a sad, naive little woman that Nikki is. I can't tell if she's trying to save face by pretending she's ok with JP's lack of love, or if she's really just that stupid. All I know is that you could feel the tension radiating off Sean & Catherine. "Don't slap the hand that fed you!" --GO CATHERINE! She had her sassy pants on that night! And bless Chris Harrison's reality TV show host heart. He has the patience of a saint.
  • True story: I bought a romper and a kimono jacket this week. I'm feeling rather jazzed about them, even though I tend to stray away from trends as they're trendy (I'm typically late to the party). I hope the way I envision them on me in my head is exactly how they'll look when they finally come in the mail. But, don't expect any awkward OOTD posts. Chances are I'll send them back. Online shopping is the devil.
  • How I take my coffee at home: one pack of Truvia and a splash of unsweetened almond milk.
  • How I take my coffee at a coffee shop: a café au lait with 1 raw sugar packet, or a skinny vanilla latte with a dash of cinnamon, or a mochaccino, or anything seasonal (hello, PSL!) in the tall, non-fat, no whip form.
  • Thanks to Glee, last week I rekindled my love for the trio Wilson Phillips. My 9 to 11-year-old self went through 3 of their cassette tapes having
'Hold On' and 'You're In Love' on repeat back in the day. In high school, my best friend and I used to road trip to Wilson Phillips. And when
Bridesmaids featured 'Hold On' in Maya Rudolph's wedding at the end of the movie, I'm pretty sure I got teary eyed, stood up, and danced in the movie theater. Wilson Phillips reunion? I say YES.
  • Anyone ever been to Valletta, Malta or Catania, Sicily? We need recommendations for sight-seeing/tours in both cities. We're thinking a day trip to Mt. Etna and Taormina in Sicily, but we wonder if just spending the day in Taormina would be enough. We hear it's GORGEOUS. Wouldn't want to shortchange gorgeousness.
  • Wine bottle count as of today: 131...and counting.
  • Beer bottle count as of today: 293...and counting. Wanna know what my favorite beer is? Read all about it here (thanks, eTramping!)!
  • I really love how Europe has an affinity for having a matching glass to go with every beverage. Like, if we were at Starbucks right now having our coffee talk, we'd be drinking out of ceramic coffee mugs, not paper cups. Seriously. I'm going to miss that attention to detail when we're back in America.
  • I hate to end this coffee talk on a not so nice note, but I found out some not so great things about my grandma's health this past week. The "C" word was mentioned. Never a good thing. If you're the praying type, would you mind sending a few up for my grandma and my family. Plans are still being made and issues are still being assessed, so we're hopeful...but nervous. These are the times when being far from home really freaking sucks. :(
  • Annnndd we still don't know where we're moving. $%#*@&#$!!

What's the word? Anything on your mind today?

** Oh…and just so everyone is aware, I'll be shutting down Fresh Face Friday Blog Hop (and the ad spot) temporarily for the month of May and possibly June & July. I know, SAD FACE! We'll be on vacation most of May, so I figured a break for my brain would be nice. In lieu of FFF, I've opened up Vacation Guest Posting ad spots to help fill in some gaps while we're gone. This worked SUPER well the last time we went on a lengthy vaycay, so I'm giving it another go (you can read more details about the guest posting opportunity in my ad shop on my sponsor page)! Once we know when we're officially packing out and moving, I'll determine if I'll open back up the FFF hop and ad spot for June/July or if I'll need more guest posters. For now, I've still got 5 Fresh Face Friday ad spots left to fill for April. If you want in, grab one at 25% OFF with code SPRINGFLING from now until Monday!**
