Hide and Seek (2013) (English)
A man is trying to find his missing brother. This leads him to an apartment complex where he meets some strange people who lives there. He doesnt find his brother, what he finds is only trouble that becomes a treat to his family.
Hide and Seek is an entertaining thriller from South Korea. You do not care so much about the characters, but the film never gets boring. Hide and Seek has a lot of tension in some scenes, especially when the family is being stalked by a person who does not take off his motorcycle helmet.
When the identity of the mysterious person with the motorcycle helmet is revealed, the film gets a little dumber. Because you don’t buy that a person like this can create so much trouble, especially physical problems. But I liked the crazy person and his or her motive. This is a really crazy person that you will fall in love with, but at the same time you will laugh out loud because of the motive. Home sweet home!
If you like South Korean thrillers with a good atmosphere and a crazy murderer, Hide and Seek is worth checking out. The film never gets boring, but it’s a pretty stupid movie, so do not expect so much realism. But it is a fun and very entertaining film experience.
