3 Dimensional Die Cut Flower Tutorial

Happy Monday everyone! Easter is less than a week away, so I thought I would share a quick tutorial with you today on how to create 3 Dimensional Flowers using die cuts that you can use to dress up your Easter decorations or baskets. These flowers are part of a set of Easter Treat Cones that I have up on the Pebbles blog today. For this tutorial and project, I am using products from the Pebbles Garden Party collection.

TUTORIAL | 3 DIMENSIONAL DIE CUT CARDSTOCK FLOWERS

Gather your supplies: Die cuts, heat gun, water bottle and double sided foam adhesive.

Step 1. Lightly mist each die cut shape with water.

Step 2. Wrinkle and fold the die cut with your fingers, working to bring the center to a point with the petals folded inward.

Step 3. Repeat this on each of the flowers.

Step 4. Use a heat gut to dry them. I have also found that this stiffens the paper just a little.

Step 5. Adhere a foam dot to the center of the bottom and middle flower layers.

Step 6. Position the die cuts from largest on the bottom to smallest on the top, remove the backing from the adhesive and adhere the layers together.

Step 7. Repeat the layering and use of adhesive foam dots on all of the flowers.
Now your 3D flowers are ready to dress up your Easter Treat Cones. They would make great embellishments for other Easter or Spring related projects such as baskets, home decor items or even cards. This same concept would also work with flower shapes cut out using an electronic cutting machine or metal dies. The sky is the limit when it comes to creativity, so remember to have fun and do something creative like this today!
