Domenica Vittoria Calarco

Let's face it...

In a world where ones appearance over shadows pretty much everything else, once in a while it's good to step back from out busy lives and remember to take some things with a grain of salt. Good quality sea salt of course!

Since I started wearing makeup when I was about 12 (mums Revlon red lipstick disappeared when I was 2…) , I've always had my beauty favourites and a certain routine that I change up depending on the season or what kind of condition my skin is in.

When I was younger and at school, 'makeup' application only went as far as a coat of mascara and lipgloss. But in a strict Catholic girls school, even lipgloss was classed as blasphemy. I'm the first to admit being caught during class in the bathroom by my year co-ordinator re-applying my lipgloss; I never did get that lipgloss back…

Today, beauty is pretty much my job and I for one am a proud ambassador for the art of makeup.

It shouldn't be put down as trying to cover up who you are, or changing what god gave you purely because it isn't. Makeup is a wonderful thing, you can choose to use it or not, it comes in all different colours, textures; the possibilities are endless.

Don't ever be afraid to try new things with your makeup and skincare routine, just as you shouldn't worry what people are going to say about you rocking that fabulous Josh Goot blazer to do the groceries.

"Express yourself, thats what its all about"
