BLOG THIEVES–CHECK FOR YOUR OWN CONTENT

The website owner who stole many of my photos and put them on their site (with a copyright notice at the bottom of their page- go figure) responded to my email before Google got hold of them and removed my photos. This is a copy of the email between us. Note that the conversation starts at the bottom.
So here is what took place. I have set up a Google Alert for my blog name that emails me whenever someone posts my blog name on the Internet anywhere. You can set yours up here. When they advised me that my blog name showed up on a site I went to look and saw that these asshats had posted a lot of photos from my blog. This is not like Pinterest which encourages you to share and link back to the original sources but a web site that has no apparent reason for collecting our photos other for some kind of gain for themselves. They actually have the nerve to put a copyright warning on their page at the bottom. Seriously. The next step I took was to use Webmaster Tools from Google to report the urls of the thief and my urls where it shows the content on my blog with a description of what they have stolen. I have used this several times and they have been great at shutting these things down. You can report theft here. Thirdly I found a contact email on their site. This isn’t usually an option on these sites. I emailed them and they responded very quickly as you can see in the image above. My email was rude and aggressive and I have no qualms about that. They appear to have removed all my content. I suggest you go by and have a search for your blog info on their site. Just search even with part of your blog name. I also suggest you do a search of your blog name in general on Google and take the time to scroll through the many pages to see where your blog shows up. They are at picphotos.net
