What’s On My Hook: 5 Recent WIPS

I was home today so I got to take advantage of the wonderful natural daylight to get these shots of some recently completed (and not so completed) WIPS!

I finished this triangle scarf over 3 days, which is a record for me. I was a little disappointed as the scarf didn’t end up looking as lacy as the one in the pattern. I’m not sure what happened, but I like it anyway. The free pattern can be found here.

I participated in my first Fresh Stitches mystery crochet along and I made a puppy! I really enjoyed this CAL and plan on playing along next month too. To participate, you just have to purchase the pattern and Stacey sends clues each week throughout the month and you make the pieces and at the end piece them together. I had no idea what it could’ve been until she sent the last clue! My guesses were a stegosaurus, a turtle, or a bear.

I made an Instagram buddy, Rachael, some boot cuffs. After she saw my scarf she asked me if I could make her a pair. How could I resist? I made the pattern up on my own after trying to read a frustratingly crappy pattern that made no sense. Ain’t nobody got time for that.

And here’s one I still have yet to finish. This diamond stitch baby blanket was a project I started while totally stressed out about my new job and I needed something simple and soothing to look forward to making. It’s been neglected because all the projects above sparked my interest and I jumped on those instead. But now I’m going to focus on finishing it. The free pattern can be found here.

That’s it for now!

I’m still working on my crochet mood blanket, of course. It’s a labor of love. I ran out of yarn at the hotel so I had to order more for 2 more rows of squares. But as usual, I get bored and want to move on to a smaller project to keep things interesting. Then I go back when the inspiration strikes. But this WILL be done by year’s end.
