Crochet Baby Bunting & Pattern

Hi all, how are we??

I felt the need to crow-bar even more crochet into my baby daughters box room and so I made some more bunting. Can a child have enough bunting?? Noooo, no indeed no :-)

Thankfully her room does not resemble a used-car sales forecourt. Instead it's pretty and girlie and babyish and I think I just about got away with the extra crochet addition, lol.

I used the same yarn as I'd made this doily with, the bunting is what I'd originally bought the yarn for though.

My original source of inspiration was from ByHaafner blog (thank you Haafner) but although the design is similar, the pattern is different. (by the way I didn't win her giveaway, boo hoo)

So I thought I would write up my pattern for anyone who would like it, hopefully you will enjoy making the bunting and that the pattern is easy to follow and makes sense!!

Crochet Baby Bunting Pattern

Chain 4 and join with slip-stitch to form ring. Rnd 1: ch 3, 3 treble, 3 ch,* 4 treble 3ch, repeat from * once more and then join round with a slip stitch into top of starting chain 3.

Rnd 2: ch 3, 1 treble in each of next 3 stitches, *2 treble 3 chain 2 treble in next 3 chain space. 1 treble in each of next 4 stitches. Repeat from * once more, 2 treble 3 chain 2 treble in next 3 chain space and then join round with a slip stitch into top of starting chain 3.

Rnd 3: ch 3, 1 treble in each of next 5 stitches, *2 treble 3 chain 2 treble in next 3 chain space. 1 treble in each of next 8 stitches. Repeat from * once more, 2 treble 3 chain 2 treble in next 3 chain space, 1 treble in each of next 2 stitches and then join round with a slip stitch into top of starting chain 3.

Rnd 4: ch 3, 1 treble in each of next 7 stitches, *2 treble 3 chain 2 treble in next 3 chain space. 1 treble in each of next 12 stitches. Repeat from * once more, 2 treble 3 chain 2 treble in next 3 chain space, 1 treble in each of next 4 stitches and then join round with a slip stitch into top of starting chain 3.

Rnd 5: ch 3, 1 treble in each of next 9 stitches, *2 treble 3 chain 2 treble in next 3 chain space. 1 treble in each of next 16 stitches. Repeat from * once more, 2 treble 3 chain 2 treble in next 3 chain space, 1 treble in each of next 6 stitches and then join round with a slip stitch into top of starting chain 3. Fasten off. You should have 20 trebles on each of the 3 sides and a 3 chain space as the (3) corners.

Rnd 6: (with new colour) starting in a corner 3 chain space : chain 3, 1 treble 2 chain 2 trebles, *skip 2 stitches, 2 treble 2 chain 2 treble in next stitch, repeat from * 5 times, 2 treble 2 chain 2 treble in next 3 chain space **. Repeat from * to ** once more. ***skip 2 stitches, 2 treble 2 chain 2 treble in next stitch, repeat from *** 5 times and join round with a slip stitch into top of starting 3 chain. OR IN OTHER WORDS: go around the edge with the cluster of 2 trebles 2 chains 2 trebles in a stitch (or chain space) with a gap of 2 stitches in between – oh here’s the photo: ( you should have 21 clusters altogether)

I made 10 triangles altogether using 5 different colours: Sirdar Snuggly babycotton dk in shades: cotton bud white 157, bo peep pink 156, impish 150, lemon cups 154, soft lilac 153 and little hugs 152.
