El Paso Chihuahuas Help The Humane Society of El Paso

The El Paso Chihuahuas will wear their hearts on their sleeves for a paws cause when they don special jerseys with a dog-themed design for their second Bark at the Park of the season.

On August 3rd baseball buffs and their barking buddies can cheer for the Chihuahuas when the minor league team takes on the Reno Aces, and place bids on the fetching apparel seen on the players, which feature the doggedly determined face of a plucky pup. Bids will be taken on the day of the game from 5 p.m. until after the fifth inning, with proceeds benefiting The Humane Society of El Paso, a non-profit, no-kill animal shelter which found forever homes for 3,533 companion animals in 2013.

Along with the chance to help dogs and cats in need, the first 2,000 ticket-holding fans through the gates on game day will receive a bobble head of the team’s canine mascot, Chico.

In the following interview on KVIA ABC-7, Brad Taylor– the General Manager of the El Paso Chihuahuas– talks about the upcoming Bark at the Park event and the Fido-inspired fashion statement that has captured the attention of sports fans across the country:
