Actress Pam Grier Helps Abandoned Puppies

When six puppies were abandoned behind a restaurant in Macon, Georgia their future looked bleak, but now the sky is the limit for the pack of pups thanks to the combined effort of a national charity comprised of compassionate pilots and a group of doggedly devoted individuals– among them an action heroine who helped to save the day.

Actress Pam Grier, who has starred in such cult classics as Foxy Brown, Coffy and Jackie Brown, recently stepped into her real life role as an animal advocate when she heard the news about the puppies, who were facing their fate in a kill shelter. The concerned star contacted Pilots N Paws Pet Rescue Services, which flew the barking buddies to the safety of a shelter in Blackshear, Georgia, where they will receive TLC during a short quarantine period before embarking on their next chapter in their lives at Delaware County SPCA in Media, Pennsylvania.

Established in 2008, Pilots N Paws is a non-profit whose volunteer members go the extra mile to provide transport for shelter dogs, foster pets, service dogs and our four-legged friends who are being adopted into forever families after serving our country.
