Miranda Lambert Helps Pets with Cause for the Paws 7
Miranda Lambert has been nominated for nine CMA Awards, and while only time will tell who will take home coveted crystal trophies when the accolades are presented on November 5th, the country music star has already won the admiration of dog devotees for setting the stage for a better tomorrow for pets in need by taking the stage at the Route 91 Harvest Festival.
The Grammy Award winner has donated the proceeds from her concert appearance at the Mandalay Bay resort, a sold out VIP cocktail party with silent auction items from the “Automatic” singer, her chart-topping husband Blake Shelton, Live Nation and MGM Resorts; and a separate online auction to her 7th annual Cause for the Paws event benefiting her ‘pet project,’ Muttnation Foundation.
“I always have a great time in Vegas, but being able to save dogs along the way was probably the best,” stated Lambert, who is the proud pet parent to seven rescue dogs. “Getting to do what I love and help the cause that’s closest to my heart, and do it in Vegas; it doesn’t get any better. With the money raised, I am looking forward to seeing lots of dogs find loving forever homes through adoption.”
Bev Lambert, the co-founder of Muttnation Foundation, said: “Miranda and I were a bit apprehensive about moving the 7th Annual Cause For the Paws from our home states of Texas and Oklahoma into Las Vegas. As our long time sponsors signed on in record time and the tickets for the 1st Harvest Festival began to sell out we started to feel like this year may indeed be worthy of the name–Lucky 7! We stand amazed at the support that her fans, friends and sponsors continue to show as they join hands with us to help shelter pets across the US. We both continue our pledge to be watchful over every penny donated.”
A total of $628,148 was raised at the event, with funds to benefit a number of initiatives, such as Mutts Across America: 50 States/50 Shelters and Redemption Ranch, Muttnation Foundation’s no-kill animal shelter in Tishomingo, Oklahoma, which will celebrate its public grand opening on November 22nd.
