I get regular emails asking about which products I would recommend for daily hair styling so I thought I would dedicate today’s post specifically to my fail-safe everyday picks. I pretty much reach for the same reliable products every morning whether I’m planning on having my hair up, down, straight or wavy. The only variable is what I use to ‘set’ my hair i.e. if I have curled my hair then I will use a strong hold hairspray to keep my style intact.

I personally prefer to use a minimal amount of products on my hair because I favour the more natural look. For your reference I have fine hair so anything too heavy will weigh it down and make it look flat and lacklustre. In other words, I like my hair to be in the kind of condition that looks healthy and allows you to run your fingers through it. I don’t like my hair to be crispy, greasy, overly backcombed or frizzy. I know that a lot of people favour the really ‘undone’ appearance but that just ain’t my thing!

So lets take a look at which products I reach for every morning…

Bumble & Bumble Thickening Hairspray - I have tried many styling sprays and this is by far the best one. It helps to hold any style, it’s lightweight and it leaves your hair with a natural texture once dried. I like to concentrate the product on my roots for maximum lift and also on my fringe to keep it in place. You don’t need a lot of this spray so it does actually last a long time. I’ve had this one for about 9 months and it’s still a quarter full!

Charles Worthington Miracle Repair Elixir Oil - I started using this product in the last few weeks and I absolutely LOVE it! It’s part of the Charles Worthington Secrets Collection so it’s a little more expensive than what you will have been used to with the brand. It’s a blend of five precious oils, including renowned Argan Oil recognised for its exceptional nourishing and repairing properties. I use 2 pumps of this on my mid lengths to ends, avoiding my roots. The formula is so lightweight and it leaves your hair incredibly shiny and silky smooth. My ends were quite dry when I first start using this product but they have definitely improved!

Bumble & Bumble Semisumo - I wasn’t that taken by this product instantly but the more I began to use it, the more I realised it’s merits. It’s a lightweight pomade that adds shine and a little texture to your hair. I like to use it to smooth, add a little hold and texture to my fringe and generally tame any ‘fluffy’ areas of my hair. I rub my fingers through the very ends of my fringe to ensure it stays in place all day. It is on the more expensive side but it lasts FOREVER.
