Urban Decay Naked Flushed Palette in Streak

As you all know I am now 3 days overdue on this pregnancy and it’s testing my patience to say the least! I have been trying to keep myself occupied every day in the hope that time will magically pass that bit faster. Being a beauty blogger, playing with new makeup is always a very welcome distraction and I was delighted to receive the Urban Decay Flushed Palette in Streak from the lovely people at UD central.

The initial launch of the original Flushed palette was last year but the texture of the bronzer and the mauve tones in the blush never quite sat well with me. However, the new shades they have released ensures that there’s something in the range for every skin tone.

“Urban Decay launches Naked Flushed, the hot little threesome every woman needs in her makeup bag. We packed our favourite beauty essentials – bronzer, highlighter and blush – into one convenient compact. Light-diffusing particles enhance and perfect to give your skin a fresh, glowy look (even when your late-night antics have you feeling otherwise). Use these SILKY pressed powders individually or blend them together to create just the right effect – and let this seemingly straight-laced trio morph into a tangled colour love fest. Then bask in the radiant glow and let people wonder what you’ve been up to.”

I’m convinced that the formula of each section has been improved since the original palette. They all just feel smoother, more buttery to the touch and there seems to be a much more subtle gleam to the finish as opposed to visible sparkle on the skin. The thing I really love about this palette is the fact that you have a bronzer/contour, blush and highlighter all in one place. This is a fantastic palette for taking on holiday or simply just for your handbag should you want to touch up your makeup.

The bronzer is described is a pale matte bronze which is subtle enough to add overall colour to the face but visible enough to act as a natural-looking contour. This bronzer would be especially good for paler skin tones. On very close inspection, it does have the tiniest amount of shimmer but that’s not visible on the skin once applied. It has a soft, smooth, blend able consistency with good pigmentation and I really like the diffused glow it gives my skin.

The highlighter is a light gold, shimmery peach with a slightly metallic sheen. Once again the texture is soft and smooth and the finish gives cheekbones really pretty definition. A word of warning though…if you are particularly worried about large pores on your cheeks then this may not be for you as it does emphasise them, as with most highlighters out there. This highlighter has a lot of pigmentation so it’s best to apply it with a light hand, preferably with something like a fan brush.

The blush in this compact is a pink-coral with warm undertones and a matte finish – perfection for the summer months! Some people have reported that the blush has a powdery, patchy finish but I certainly didn’t find that. The pigmentation is good, it applies evenly with a good brush and it has a nice matte finish that looks natural. This particular shade has a lovely brightening effect on my complexion that just makes me look more perky and healthy. Plus you guys know I’m a sucker for a coral blush!

If you’re headed off on holiday soon, this would be the perfect compact to bring along because it’s a multi-tasker, it has the perfect ‘beachy’ shades in it for that sun kissed look and it’s so sleek and compact. I can see this being used daily in the summer months! It’s priced at £22 which isn’t too bad considering you’re getting a bronzer, contour, blush AND highlight.
