NKD SKN Tinted Tan Mousse By Vita Liberata

I’ve tried Vita Liberata tanning products before and really enjoyed them so I was really looking forward to trying something from their NKD SKN range. I was sent the NKD SKN Tinted Tan Mousse in Medium (£14.95 for 100ml) to test out and I had the perfect time to test-run this baby…a long-awaited girl’s night out! Granted using a new tanning product before such a momentous occasion is risky but I had faith in Vita Liberata as a brand because they’ve never let me down before. So the night before, I got exfoliating, moisturising, whipped out the tanning mitt and got my glow on!

This self tanner has a guide colour as we’ve all come to expect from mousse formulations. Some people love a guide colour and some people hate it (stained bedsheets anyone?!) however when I’m applying tan to places like my back, I really do need that tint to make sure I’ve got it all covered!

The first thing I noticed about this tanning mousse is that it’s very light and airy, making it incredibly easy to apply. Because of this formulation, it sinks into the skin super quickly which is always a bonus when you want the whole tanning process to go quickly and smoothly! I didn’t notice any strong smell from the product immediately and even after it had developed, there was only the faintest whiff of biscuits. Probably the least smelly fake tan I’ve tried so far to be honest.

I washed the guide colour off in the morning and was left with a really lovely golden glow – nothing too intense. The medium shade is really great if you’re fair-skinned like me and don’t want your tan to go too dark. I had absolutely no streaks or patchy areas either which for me is an essential requirement from a fake tanning product. It has faded really nicely over the 3 days following application with no horrible patches or tan collecting in your inner elbows (I hate that!).

So basically this tanning mousse is pretty darn perfect! I actually prefer the more subtle colour to the darker Xen Tan or St Tropez products. It’s a great self tanning mousse for the Autumn and Winter months when you want a golden glow rather than a deep tan. I also think it’s priced really well for a high-quality self tanner. Thumbs up to this!
