Urban Decay Revolution Lipsticks

Urban Decay Revolution Lipsticks (£15) seem to fall right between the drugstore/budget options and the crazy-expensive high end brands. £15 is still a lot to spend on a lipstick but I feel like it’s more reasonable and especially when the formulation and colour selection is so great! Urban Decay have fast built their name and image as dynamic brand that treats us to countless exciting product launches. They have seriously stepped up their game when it comes to quality and they can certainly compete with the higher end brands.

The pigmentation is everything you’d expect from a more edgy brand like Urban Decay – it’s intense, opaque and luscious. The lipsticks last a good amount of time on the lips, with the brighter shades having more longevity due to the brighter pigments staining the lips. The gunmetal packaging is sleek and practical, whilst having a nice weight to it so it doesn’t feel flimsy or cheap.

Left to Right: Native, Turn On, Jilted

I’ve had the shade Native for ages now and it fast became one of my favourite nude lip colours of all time because it’s the type of nude that lifts your complexion, rather than draining it. The formulation glides, it’s creamy and hydrating and has a slight shine to it, which has a plumping effect. Turn On is a lovely subtle berry shade…almost like Native and Jilted mixed together, for those who feel too conspicuous wearing a full on statement lip. Jilted is a full on vibrant, brightened fuchsia-red with iridescent shimmer and a soft sheen. It definitely falls into the berry category though and I feel like this more fuchsia berry shade is easier for a lot of people to wear. I have found in the past that the bordeaux end of berry can be really draining on the complexion.
