Insomniac Sale Picks: Printed Sleeveless Shells

Brittany requested a few picks for printed sleeveless shells, so here we go:

Anthropologie Merlon Tank - was $68, now $39.95

This shell has nice wide straps to cover all manner of bras – and a very cool crossover feature in back – but would also look lovely layered. Multicolor prints like this are marvelously versatile, and you could pull out orange, navy, mint or yellow to complete your outfit. Machine washable. Available in sizes XS – L in this floral, washed orange stripes, and blue ikat. Size availability varies by color. This top has a similar shape and colors and is available in sizes 0X – 3X.

Banana Republic Heritage Geo Print Tank - was $69.50, now $41.70

This shell is so danged pretty and has some fabulous design features: A v neckline (rare in shells) and crossover styling for a gorgeous draped effect. It also has a racerback, which means worn on its own it’ll need a specialty bra … but throw on a cardigan or jacket and no one will be the wiser. Machine washable. Available in this gunmetal as well as coral print in sizes XS – XL. Size availability varies by color. This similar shell is available in sizes 1X – 3X.

Jones New York Gathered Neck Line Shell – was $69, now $24.99

The most traditional shell of the bunch with wide straps and straight styling. Love this paired with white for a breezy summer look. Available in this print, orange paisley, tan/brown geo, as well as solid black, yellow, and pale coral in sizes 2 – 16. Size availability varies by color. JNY has lots of printed shells over on 6pm, including red abstract and blue abstract prints.

Land’s End Jersey Print Scoop Tank Top – $35

I’m filing this under “Why the Heck Isn’t Land’s End Having a 4th of July Sale Yet?” My guess is that by tomorrow, you’ll be able to get a discount on this little love. And even if I’m wrong, it’s affordable at full price. Wear with any number of blues, or pair with purple, emerald, or just about any other jewel tone. Available in sizes XS – XL, as well as petite and plus sizes.

Other not-currently-on-sale resources for printed sleeveless shells:

1. LOFT – A mix of solids and prints, of course, but lots of cute options. Love this arty floral shell.
2. Anthropologie - Some printed tanks have more frippery than a basic shell, but if you’re throwing a blazer over them no one will be the wiser. This paisley print v-neck is wonderfully summery.
3. J.Crew Factory – Regular J.Crew has very little, but the Factory site offers some fun options, including this navy and neon large floral print.
4. And, of course, THRIFT STORES! The charity shops are brimming with sleeveless tops now, including many prints. (thethriftshopper.com can help you locate stores near you.)
