Almost Winter, Almost Grown-Up

With the winter season comes a more grown-up phase in my personal style – which usually lasts until summer. I think I look quite western and almost my own age in my wool coats, high-heeled boots, leather gloves and faux fur. These are my go-to outerwear items for an “office approved” look.

Wearing a Mango jacket, Motel belt, Jerry Girl boots and new Tamrac camera bag.

Last night I had all the more reason to dress “office style” because we had a reunion with the girls from my elementary to junior high class from the German School of Helsinki.

Out of the 9 of us girls that went to the same school from 3rd to 9th class, only two ended up not entering the top Universities in this country. Can you guess… Yup, whereas everybody else has or is about to finish their degree in the top Medical, Law, Technical or Business Universities, I’m the one who didn’t even apply for Uni and chose to apply for college. I know I made the right choice (since I wanted to study marketing in a more practical & possibly design/planning centered way) but it still feels funny being ‘that one’ among my highly educated class mates.

Long story short; I knew half of my ex classmates would be coming to our Friday night reunion straight from their all mature office jobs, dressed according to their jobs, so I wanted to dress a bit more official too.

At the Mexican restaurant Patrona in Helsinki with the girls.

All in all it was super great seeing everyone again, since we all know each other’s personalities and so on so well. We had a great time at the Mexican restaurant and at the wine bar after, and surprisingly enough, there were no awkward silence moments and we kept babbling and laughing like crazy all the way!

Sometimes you’re good going out even if you’re hesitant at first, because a lot of times, you’ll end up real happy with having seen some friends and people you hadn’t seen in a while.

Have a great weekend everyone ♥

PS. Okay, I was just foolin ya with looking almost my own age (23). We were about to go in this wine bar and I was the only one who got stopped by the doorman with the “may I see your ID”. O hi, I’ll be turning 24 in 2 months, forever young hmm?!
