Hello, old friend.

Well hello! It's certainly been a while since I posted here. I've been waiting til the time is right — and for me 'to figure it all out,' to be totally honest — before I dropped any thing real on here.

Like most of us, I still haven't figured it all out (does that ever really happen to anyone? If it's happened to you, will you please let me know in the comments?). One thing I have come to realize is that I have missed blogging consistently terribly. TERRIBLY. It literally defined me for 5 years — and it's been hard to shake, try as I might!

So here I am. Posting after being away from this space for over a year. One whole year!

Let me recap. Much has happend in the past few years since I started to let this blog fade. I got burned out, I needed to take a break — and go dark on here. For those of you who do not know me in real life, (or do not follow me on Twitter) something major happened to me in 2010 due to this blog: I got a whole new career in tech. All because of this little blog! (The Interent can do wild and amazing things.)

In the past three years I've worked for Yahoo!, Wikia (Wikipedia's sister site), and Wired. And now, I have my own business working with creative individuals and small brands to define their voice on social media. So things kind of got in the way, and what was once a huge passion — a labor of love as it were — just became a drag. So I took a break. (If you would like, you can read the full story on The Maven Circle where I was asked to get real about being burned out online. It was cathartic. You should let me know what you think, and if you have had similar issues — because I bet you have.)

This summer, I'm making some really big changes. Really exciting changes. I'm moving out of the Bay Area and back to Boston, and I'm opening a small online shop dedicated to all of the jewelry that I love (a dream of mine I've always had. YES! Shout out to my friend Rose, for making me take this leap.)

I'm currently at home starting to plan everything, and I spent the weekend on Cape Cod. To start to get ready I wrote, and wrote, about all of the things that I want to do in the next year. I made a list of my goals and far reaches, all so I can keep myself acountable. One of the things I wrote was to create a new blog so I can post about things I'm doing, people I'm meeting, and just a place to keep it all. Then it hit me. Wait. Why don't I just come back to ML4U? It's my blog. It's my Internet child (bloggers you feel me, right?). Why don't I just start anew? This is where I began. It just makes sense.

So here I am. And who knows if I'll stick around. Who knows what you'll find here! But I hope in the interim you'll join me, and let me inspire you like I have in the past in this new chapter of ML4U.

I'm excited. Are you?

love, Meighan
