Web: We Think Alone

I know most people feel a bit email fatigued...but I've actually found my inbox to be a place of refuge lately to the noise that the Internet can soemtimes feel like. I've started signing up for way more newsletters, and email lists so I can get all of the content and info I'm interested in — in bite size chunks, at my convenience and on my time line.

Perhaps Miranda July is feeling it as well. Her latest project We Think Alone is something that looks really interesting, and as July normally goes, highlights the mundane and makes it beautiful.

"I’m always trying to get my friends to forward me emails they’ve sent to other people — to their mom, their boyfriend, their agent — the more mundane the better. How they comport themselves in email is so intimate, almost obscene — a glimpse of them from their own point of view. WE THINK ALONE has given me the excuse to read my friends’ emails and the emails of some people I wish I was friends with and for better or worse it’s changed the way I see all of them. I think I really know them now."

Sign up for We Think Alone and you'll get a sneak peek into the lives of (just to name a few) Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Lena Dunham, Kirsten Dunst, and the Rodart sisters Kate and Laura Mulleavy through 20 emails over 20 weeks. If you sign up now, you'll get next week's.

I've never been so excited for boring email in my entire life.

P.S I missed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's email, would you mind forwarding it to me?
