The Secret Life of Bees: Goose Edition!

Well, hive, we’re still waiting on the final edit of some of our wedding photos, as well as our wedding highlight video—plus with the High Holidays coming up and an influx of things at work, I won’t be blogging for a bit—but in the mean time, I wanted to contribute to one of my favourite on-going series. Granted, I’m not the most interesting person in the world, however I always love reading these and wanted to share my own. Here’s a little look into the secret world of Mrs. Goose.

#1. My Mismatched Socks

I never, EVER match my socks. Ever since I was old enough that my mom made me do my own laundry, I just thought it was tedious to sit there and match up every single one to every other single one. So, I started wearing them mismatched! I’m lucky that I work in a job where running shoes and long pants are the norm, so it’s not something everyone sees, but I know it’s there.

Now, it would be simple to do this if I just bought a bunch of black and white socks by the same manufacturer, but no. I have to get the brightest colours and patterns I can. And, hey, if it’s good enough for Matthew Gray Gubler, then it’s good enough for me!

And speaking of MGG and Spencer Reid…

#2. I’m a crime show junkie

It’s true, I love crime shows. Specifically Criminal Minds (surprised?) and CSI (the original). Everyone who knows me knows that they have no chance getting me out of the house if those two shows are airing new episodes. I’ve annoyed Gander with basically hogging the television when these air, and am known to watch the A&E Criminal Minds weekend marathon on a slow day. I liked CSI so much that, for the longest time, my favourite screen cap of Eric Szmanda of the week from whatever episode aired would be my computer wallpaper. What can I say, it was a pretty big crush.

Speaking of celebrity crushes…

#3. My REAL first “celebrity” crush

When most people ask about my first celebrity crush, I tell them it was the incomparable Johnathan Taylor Thomas.

Which isn’t totally untrue. He was my first real person celebrity crush. However, my first actual “celebrity” crush wasn’t technically real. Or technically human…

Yep, it was Tuxedo Mask. He captured my heart right along with Sailor Moon’s. Who could resist a well dressed man coming to the rescue with flowers?

So, while these may not be as deep as some of my fellow bees, you’ve now gotten to see a small part of what lies beneath the feathers of Mrs. Goose. And with that, I’m off to party like it’s 5775! Shana Tova!
