Karl Lagerfeld to Launch ‘The Karl Daily’ “Satirical” Newspaper

Chanel and Fendi creative director Karl Lagerfeld will launch The Karl Daily, a “satirical broadsheet newspaper,” later this month. The impending publication will distribute throughout Europe, China and beyond in quantities of 150,000 copies, showcasing the mastermind’s drawings, words, photography, and latest product advertisements. The newspaper medium chosen by Lagerfeld is a wry commentary on the current publishing world, which is furiously chasing the fickle and ever-changing Internet crowd. The Karl Daily is also a rebellion against all the gargantuan coffee table fashion art books, because you shouldn’t “have to be a bodybuilder to lift it,” says Karl.
