Asymmetrical Skirt & Contrasting Prints

Hello everyone,

This week I had the wonderful opportunity of visiting New York for a 2nd time this fall. Besides being insanely happy to get a glimpse of what real fall looks like with all the dancing leaves and melancholic rain, I was very excited to speak on a panel at the Google office in Manhattan. They invited several youtubers along with myself to speak to leading brands in the fashion and beauty industry about Youtube becoming the next big thing in the media. I never usually get nervous about public speaking, but not going to lie, I was quite freaked out about this one. Thankfully everything went well and it was a fantastic experience! *phew*

I wanted to wear something that is sharp, professional yet highlights my personal style- you guys know my style isn’t exactly “office appropriate” most of the time. I styled this look around the asymmetrical faux leather skirt, which I think is a great transitional piece from your summer wardrobe. I wanted to add a preppy touch by wearing a subtle plaid buttoned-up blouse with a contrasting collar. I’ve been loving playing with contrasting prints- thus the mix between the plaid blouse and tapestry jacket. A good tip for mixing prints is to keep them within the same color scheme.
