Choosing the Perfect Tuxedo

Since Pinterest launched, weddings have continued to get better and better. With so many amazing ideas being shared, brides and grooms are now able to create events that are completely customized, hand crafted and truly unique to their style. While the bride and her bridesmaids search for the perfect dresses, the groomsman’s attire doesn’t always get the attention it deserves. Jos. A. Bank knows that so much planning goes into making your big day just right, so they want to help by making sure your guy and his men look just as fabulous as the ladies they accompany.

Choosing the perfect tuxedo to match your unique style is super easy, especially when following these three steps:

1. Pick the Tux

Whether your wedding is Country Casual, Urban Chic, or on the beach or in a posh hotel, your tone should carry through your entire event, and your groom’s attire should complement it.

For a formal, modern event, my favorite look is a black slim fit tuxedo like the Manhattan Tuxedo Style 930. With a slim silhouette and a classic notch lapel, this look is timeless and elegant.

For a less formal event, your options are limitless. Choose from black, tan, grey, blue, or even brown tuxedos. Jos. A. Bank carries 4 options in varying shades of grey, including the Medium Grey Aspen Style 322. Their new Slate Blue Aspen Style 382 is my pick for a fresh, modern look (and it looks so awesome paired with pink)!

Want to go even more casual that that? The jacketless look is so perfect for outdoor and summer weddings. Jos. A. Bank offers a jacketless package in six different colors – black, tan, slate blue, and three shades of grey.

2. Find your Color

Now that you’ve found your perfect tux, the next step is to accessorize it with the perfect color to complement your event. Jos. A. Bank literally has HUNDREDS of tie, vest, and cummerbund colors, which equals THOUSANDS of possible combinations. You can use their color finder here, or visit a store to look at swatches.

Don’t be afraid to mix up colors, shades and fabrics, just like you would do for your bridesmaids. You could dress the groom in one color and his guys in another. Or pick a vest that matches the jacket for the groom, and a colored vest for the guys. The options are limitless!

3. Complete the Look

The difference between a good wedding and a great wedding lies in the details. Consider finishing your guy’s formal look with a perfectly folded pocket square. Add some panache with the perfect cuff links and studs, or upgrade his shoe to a comfort shoe so he can dance his butt off.

My friends at Jos. A. Bank will make sure your groom looks picture perfect for your big day, so he can focus on how picture perfect his beautiful bride looks!
