Unique Wedding Gift Ideas from Uncommon Goods

It makes me so happy to see the world embracing homespun, handcrafted, reclaimed and repurposed items. When my hubby and I registered for our wedding, our options were the generic big-name stores that you would expect, and so were the items we registered for. Even though it’s been a short six years since we married, brides and grooms today have so many more options available as far as where they are able to register, and what they can register for. You’ve heard me tout Etsy as my favorite online marketplace to find unique items, but I recently discovered a new (to me) website called Uncommon Goods, that is definitely giving Etsy a run for their money.

Whether you are a newly engaged couple looking to register for some unique items that have been hand crafted and made with regard to our environment, or a wedding guest searching for that perfect one-of-a-kind personal gift, here are my picks for some stellar ideas, from Uncommon Goods:

1, they say to save the best for last, but this art print is probably my favorite of the bunch. This vintage-style poster can be completely customized for the couple, to include their names, wedding date and event venue. A keepsake and fabulous, unique wall art all in one? Yes, please! This is just one of the many personalized gifts that are offered on Uncommon Goods. You can check out more custom gifts here.

2, as a young couple, there is nothing more exciting than dreaming about your future. Which is why I’m obsessed with this scratch-off world map, where you can actually mark off the places you have traveled to together, and make plans about the locations you would like to visit.

3, for the couples who love to entertain, this serving platter is an awesome gift idea. It is actually engineered to keep your food hot or cold, depending on what you are serving on it, which means you can keep it out for an extended period of time for your guests to enjoy. Not to mention that it’s a gorgeous piece, just to look at!

4, succulents are all the rage recently, and this living wall planter kit would look so pretty hanging in your kitchen or living room, or displayed on a table. I’m told that these plants are easy to care for, which would be perfect for me since I don’t have the greenest thumb!

5, the wine box is an awesome gift idea for a wedding or a bridal shower . This birch box has three separate compartments where you can add in wine bottles for the couple to open on special occasions like their first, third and fifth wedding anniversaries. My sister’s friends gave my sister a similar gift for her bridal shower, and I thought it was the coolest idea! This is also something I am going to keep in mind, next time I am looking to buy a the perfect anniversary gift.

6, can be found sitting on my kitchen counter! Yes, I loved this reclaimed wood cookbook stand so much that had to order it for myself. If you are a bride-to-be who loves to cook, this item is a must have for your registry.

7, the glasses and decanter set is something that my hubby and I would have absolutely registered for, since we are scotch collectors. The “yours”, “mine” and “ours” etched into the glass is such a cute touch.

This is only a very small peek at the hundreds of unique items you will find at Uncommon Goods. In addition to the awesome wedding gifts that are offered, they also offer a great selection of gifts for birthdays, anniversaries, and specialized gifts for men, women (I may have spent over an hour browsing this section), and kids. Go exploring, and report back with your favorite finds!
