Four new bases around these parts, all of which contain that summer-ready light feel and look to them but which one is for whom? Here’s the breakdown…
If you’re a Darphin fan (I’m talking to you, Mum) you’ll love their latest, it’s light, hydrating and protects up to SPF 35. It gives beautiful uplifting look to the skin that as soon as you put it on you look you’ve had a fantastic nights sleep. Perfect for the morning after those summer evenings at the pub – wink wink.
This is the ultimate light coverage slap and go base, perfect for hanging out in the sun where you don’t fancy skin being naked, want a tiny hint of coverage on there and a little SPF too. Plus you could apply this in any haphazard way you like and it would still look great.
Think the Jouer Matte Moisture Tint in lighter coverage and far more easily accessible. It was about time someone brought out a light coverage matte base. It’s almost like a matte finish tinted moisturiser. I’ve found that applying it with fingers gives an extremely light coverage and with a brush adds more of a buildable-medium look, the latter being my preferred method. It’s got fantastic lasting power too – perfect for surviving the summer sun.
The highest coverage of the bunch but still with that lightweight feel, oily skin gals who seek a fair bit of coverage yet still want a light, water-like texture will love this. Don’t be fooled by the name, it’s still got a luminous look to it despite the velvet finish it gives. Summer perfection.
