Michael Chapman at Basilica Soundscape 2014

The first set of the 2014 edition of Basilica Soundscape came from 73-year-old English guitarist Michael Chapman. His soothing guitar sounds were a good fit for the relaxing mood of the festival, which goes down in the former factory turned music space Basilica Hudson located upstate in Hudson, New York.

Chapman showed a calm expertise in the folk-rock genre, gracefully delighting the crowd as they started to get settled into the building. It was my introduction to his work, but clearly I have some catching up to do.
