Disneyland for the NRA

Last weekend Cody and I took a little road trip to East Hartford to visit an outdoor sporting shop called Cabela's. Cabela's is a chain with GIGANTIC outdoor sporting good stores located, as far as I know, just in the East coast area. But it may be all over the US. These stores are pretty fun. They are kind of like Ikea, only instead of Swedish meaballs, they serve Deer Jerky and BBQ, instead of furniture for the modern man, they have every fishing rod, lure, canoe, kayak, backpack, tent, hand gun, rifle, bow, ammo, knife, bug spray, camping accessory, and SWAT team gear you could have ever dream up. There is a three story mountain the the middle of the place complete with stuffed mountain lions, moose, badger (this honey badger cared), bears, deer, and strange cats I swear they made up, a water fall and two 1000 gallon aquariums stocked with freshwater fish. There's a full archery range, a shooting range, an arcade, a candy store. The place wouldn't have been complete, of course, without a booth to sign you up for the NRA, and they even had zombie fighting equipment. Cody and I had a blast and bought some nice arrows for Avielle.
To level the conservative-liberal commerce playing field a bit, we stopped off in West Hartford at the REI (to buy a new pair of Vibram Five Fingers for me) and a Chipotle burrito - goddamn I miss Chipotle (there used to be one about 0.5 miles from our Tobago house in SD).
