A CHRISTMAS SURPRISE…
I know, I know, I keep posting about Christmas… Well, it’s because it is seriously the most magical time of the year. I love the giving aspect of it and finding the perfect gift for someone I love that they have been swooning over, or something they wouldn’t spend the money on themselves… This year I found my mom the most perfect gift!
You see, my mom and I have an obsession… or a love I guess for Willow Tree Nativities. My sweet mom has the full big nativity and the large nativity (the tall one that is only Mary and Joseph and Jesus). She saw the small nativity one day at Deseret Book and fell in love with it. The problem with it is that for the whole set it was around $200 for the small one pictured below… That was something that she wouldn’t buy for herself and honestly I never would either. It seems like a lot of money for something so small and that only will be out for Christmas time.
I found it on sale this year… yes Willow Tree’s on sale. I know, amazing right!? I got the entire set 40% off. I couldn’t be better than that. So I snagged it so fast! I bought all the pieces and wrapped them up to give her on Thanksgiving so she could put them out for this year. It was honestly the best gift I have ever given. To give her something that she had always wanted but would never spend the money on herself was perfect. I was so happy that it made her so happy.
Well, you see this is where the story gets even better. I came down one morning to the kitchen and Zach was getting ready to leave to the ward Christmas party. I sat my diet coke down and he told me to pick it back up, I picked it back up and didn’t think anything of it, he then told me to set it back down again… I looked around and the sweet man had bought me my own small Willow Tree Nativity!! I about cried! I was so excited to have this in my own home!! It is truly the best gift I have ever received and to think that it had come all the way full circle to me from giving it to my mom.
I truly love the gift of giving and the feelings and love that surround Christmas time. Zach and I always say how we wish we could go around and give to everyone. Even if it was something small, the smile on their face is what makes it all worth it.
