one of my favorite couples ever is that of ANITA PALLENBERG AND KEITH RICHARDS. She , multilingual hot drop dead gorgeous italian born model and forever effortless style icon who hooked up with three of the most talented souls on earth and beyond. He, half pirate half human excess, talented and charismatic son of a bitch, sort of my spirit animal and favorite Stone who has more lives than a cat and might be the only one left standing when the end of the world reach us. Both, rock star and muse became one of the hottest couples in the late 60´s & 70´s, a chaotic pair living in a rock world. This weekend i came across my copy of "Stoned", a 2005 movie focused mainly on Brian Jones and his insatiable world of too much sex, drugs and rock n´roll, too much of, well everything actually which led to his early destruction and tragic/suspicious death. Not a great movie honestly, filled with vague true facts, little of The Rolling Stones and too much of the director´s need to portray him as a constant drama queen instead of a gifted musician. Of course i loved the setting, the music, the clothes, the crazyness of those years, but i kind of hated that the movie revolved mainly around Brian in a way cause when i saw Monet Mazur and Ben Whishaw together as Anita and Keith, i just wished there had been more about them and less about Brian, i wished for the existence of a damn bonus or short film or somethig that showed more of their affair. In the movie, Mazur plays Anita and though she is not as insanely gorgeous as the real deal, she is quite beautiful and i believe she portrayed her really well. She had the pleasure to be Anita, "the white devil" or as i like to call her, "the devil in absolute fabulous clothes". Anita was "a wolf in disguise", a walking sin, the most dangerous spell, the untamable goddess of blonde hair and killer legs, the forbidden apple and yet the sexy serpent who could break your will and destroy your world with a simple smile. Who wouldn´t like to be her? Wishaw was ok portraying Keith. I mean he does not look like Keith 100% but i would totally give him my phone number if he kept that look. After seeing "him" so young in the movie, dealing with an intense woman like Anita, i can totally see what he meant on his biography "Life" about how she made the first move and came on to him really hard in the back of a Bentley somewhere between Barcelona and Valencia. She truly ate him alive. Can´t blame her, obviously.
Even when there is little of the Richards/Pallenberg affair in the movie (how it all started quite innocent, how Brian saw it coming, how Keith tried to ignore the way he felt about his bandmate´s girlfriend but in the end gave in) i loved these actors chemistry and had to make some screencaptures. These particular scenes reminded me of Polexia´s words in "Almost Famous" when talking to William about how it´s all gonna work out between Russell and Penny at the hotel. Sometimes eyes are better than words, right? .........................................................
Let´s face it, the fuckers looked amazing together, too bad ice lasts more in a whiskey glass than their happy times. He did dream her a sin and a lie and as stated by him, he will forever love that stupid bitch. For some time, she was the one who had his heart and soul and who could fill his cup. Too bad that wild horse couldn´t drag him away with her after all.
