Get Your Coat-You've Pulled

New season-new coat
This being the season of mellow fruitfulness its also time for my annual coat purchase.
I find coats are a really tricky item for me. I'm small framed with tiny round shoulders but massive boobs and a thick waist so more often than not to get something to do up across the chest it swamps me.
Hope springs eternal though and I did get a little flutter of excitement when I saw this Claire Richards Exaggerated collar coat by Fashionword £90

How the coat looks on the website
Its everything I adore in a coat. Strong colour(described as Mulberry but as you can see from my photos its more of a purple colour) big collar and such a awesome shape. But how would it fit?

This coat is tremendous
The answer is rather well indeed. Its quite generous sizing wise so no need to pick anything except your usual size. It has hidden buttons and feels very well made but more importantly it achieves that rare thing in a plus size coat-a good fit. Its snug enough that I don't feel like a felt covered tank yet is also roomy enough for me to put a jumper underneath when winter comes.

Getting collared
The wide collar gives it a jaunty slightly retro feel and the kick out shape means it is perfect for wearing over dresses.
Although I've styled this in a back to school chic way with my new gaucho glam pink satchel by Paperchase £30 and black Chelsea boots (also by Fashionworld £45 see separate review here) this would be a beautiful coat for the party season as its dressy enough to totally compliment any LBD or spangly frock.

I've added a little corsage for prettiness but its lovely unadorned as well.
My only complaint is that it doesn't have a belt-which would have made it just perfection but other than that I absolutely adore it.
