Behind the Blog with Golden Swank (Style Me Pretty Living)

Can we just stop for a second so I can gush about Golden Swank? I only recently stumbled upon her blog, but the girl is making waves like it’s nobodies business. And for good reason! I’m convinced she has more style in her pinky finger than many of us combined. Plus? She radiates positivity which makes our love for her all the more real. Sweet as a peach, and talented to boot. PS – there’s more!

SMP: Tell us a little about Golden Swank!
Jess: I started my blog as a creative release where I could express my passion for style and fashion. It has since become one of my greatest joys in life. I truly love what I do and love sharing a piece of myself with my readers.

SMP: You’re always dressed to the nines. What’s one fashion rule you always abide by?
Jess: I always say “I dress for women, not men.” I can’t even tell you how many times my husband has looked at me and asked me what I’m wearing! The saddest part is he usually asks when I’m wearing something that I absolutely love. I always wear what makes me feel good, no matter what others may think.

SMP: Five things every woman should have in her closet?
Jess: A solid pair of nude heels, the perfect fit and flare dress, an everyday leather bag that can be dressed up or down, a felt-floppy hat for those not-so-great- hair days, and a good pair of distressed skinnies!

SMP: Your most prized possession?
Jess: My purses = my babies. ;)

SMP: Do you have any secret talents?
Jess: I can eat like nobody’s business and I can do freaky things with my double-jointed arms. Oh and in another life, I was a concert pianist.

SMP: What design trend do you think will stand the test of time?
Jess: Lucky for me, I think stripes are never going anywhere.

SMP: The best advice you’ve ever received?
Jess: Never take negativity to heart. You can succeed if you want to. Simple as that.

SMP: If you had the opportunity to get a message across to a large group of people, what would your message be?
Jess: My message has three parts:
1. You are exquisite, through and through.
2. Find something you are passionate about and cling to it for dear life.
3. Be kind. Always be kind.

SMP: Stranded on a desert island question… what’s the one cocktail you would take with you?
Jess: Cocktails aren’t my thing so I’d bring water with the little ice cubes that are perfect for chewing on. Obsessed. Pretty much the only thing I drink!
