From the hostess…For my 30th Birthday, I decided to take the risk to do a party outdoors dinner party in mid-January. It was a sit down dinner party for 18 people. Living in Southern California we lucked out with perfect weather, and clear skies. I loved the idea of glamping, and doing a party under the stars only seemed suitable. And who doesn’t love S’mores.

THE TABLESCAPE

The two large picnic tables which were actually hand made and stained by my good friend and amazing event planner Heather Ransom, she also made the tent, where we placed all the desserts under, which consisted of a homemade Pumpkin Spice Cake and S’mores. (She also made my cake. She is pretty spectacular.)

I found an amazing plaid material at Joanne Fabrics and Heather sewed each napkin. The table centerpieces were a collection of spray painted white and gold bottles which served as candle holders. We used an assortment of branched from Mother Nature herself, which we had collected the week prior.

I hand dripped mason jars in gold which we used for drinks, we used vintage silver which we borrowed from a close family friend. I designed and printed the dinner menus on kraft paper to give them a rustic look, then we had a table set for hot cocoa, coffee and tea.

It was a great day, surrounded by loving family and friends. Couldn’t have asked for a better way to welcome in my 30’s.
