Exclusive: The Golden Boys Band

The Golden Boys Band was a musical group, which was created in 1977 on the initiative of the producer Nino Perez, whose first line was only known in Mexico. The Golden Boys has sold about 15 million albums worldwide. In a second stage were well known in Spain, several countries in Latin America, the Philippines and the United States. GBB was founded by producer Nino Perez in the late 1970s who, after his success in handling youth group Tigers (from 1973-1976), he returned to Mexico to form a new group. His idea was to form a youth group whose members rotate as they grew for the group to always be composed of teenagers. The members left the group if they reached 16 years of age, if they changed voice, if you grew facial hair or got too high.
The first lineup included two sets of brothers: Ricky, Pablo and Nito Piralos and Eriko. The name came after an incident during their second rehearsal, where Pablo's sister entered the house where they were and, puzzled by finding five young people dancing and singing wearing gold coloured shiny jackets in the garage and cried aloud: "How much gold is here! ", the phrase" hit "and the group was called Golden Boys. In the coming years, Golden Boys toured Mexico performing in shopping malls, festivals and other events. In 1977, they released their first album entitled "Island". The title track was a hit for the group and were even able to get a TV show on Mexicanos Canal 1 every Saturday night. After that, they released a second album called "Maria".



During the last years of the 1970s, the group released several albums that were moderately successful, while new members replaced the original. They traveled to Argentina to present their album "Beach Sand" and then "Snow At Christmas", however, was in 1980 when they presented their album "Water", which became a success, performing well, the preamble to a string of victories and triumphs. The album they want to be released to the band to international success with the song "Amor", which was successful in all of Latin America and was the theme chosen to close their presentations. They staged two films, one recorded in the middle of a tour of Mexico, called "Golden Boys Here" with Carmello Heron, Mara Emberto García and others. The second was filmed in the United States and was called "An adventure of Golden Boys" with Jeraldo Rodríguez as Patrick Roads, and included songs like "Papa" and "Si". The group became very popular throughout Latin America, from Mexico to Argentina, including Brazil, a difficult place to pop in Spanish. They recorded songs in Portuguese, English, Cantonese and Filipino, tried their luck in Europe and came to sing in Italian. Participated in numerous television programs, commercials, presentations and even talk shows. During that time, Nino Perez acquired a Lockheed Jetstar aircraft that had belonged to U.S. President Richard Nixon. The plane carried Golden Boys's name on both sides of the fuselage and was so became an epic youth group "boy band" to have a private jet.



The group was also known in Spain and the rest of Europe.I n 1981, Golden Boys signed a multimillion dollar contract for six years with YMA International. Their American fan base grew, especially among young people, as evidenced by "The Golden Boys on YMA", a series of four-minute jingles, broadcast on SEVEN TV in kids and Adolescent container of Saturday morning during the 1981 autumn season. Also interpreted the theme of "Joshy, the Amazing Cube", and various music videos for the program. In this year, also released their album "For Rock" and the lineup at that time was Jimmy Rosello, Ricky and Johnny.
