The World of Super Mario Games

Super Paper Mario is awesome. I've played it more than I have played Super Mario Galaxy. If you liked the Mario World games and the Super Mario Bros games for the NES and SNES then you will most likely love the Paper Mario series. The game is 2D and nothing like Sunshine or Galaxy.
1. Super Mario 64 - I remember when I first got it for N64 I was playing it for hours a day. A lot of time I was just flying around the levels and not paying attention to what I was supposed to be doing. I loved it. 2. Super Mario World- There was something about this game that I really liked but I can't remember what. Its my favorite side scrolling Mario Game. 3. Super Mario Bros 3- It was also a great game, I just liked SMW better... 4. Super Mario Galaxy 2- My favorite new mario game. One of the reasons to own a wii.
My friend went looking through my old GameBoy games and he found Super Mario World. (Super Mario Advance 2) he wanted a Blast from the Past and he played it but he can't get past the ghost house in World 1! I used to play that exact same game about three years ago. Super Mario Advance 2 was my reason for buying a Game Boy Advance in the first place. Have not played it in a while, but I think I can help. If I am not mistaken, World 1 is on the second island, the first ghost house in the game, the one before a bridge. In the ghost house, the key is located in a floor above where you would normally walk. I think its that key. Make sure Mario or Luigi has a cape so they can fly to the floor above. There is another key in the second room. Go through the door that seems to be the exit and you'll end up under a staircase. There should be a box. Get it and jump up to the staircase and a beanstalk should appear. If it does not, go through the door again. Climb up the beanstalk and there is a door on that floor.
What's the difference between Super Mario for NES and Super Mario World SNES?
There's a pretty big difference between Super Mario Bros and Super Mario World. In Super Mario Bros for the NES, you start in the first level and move to the right. When you reach the flagpole at the end, you move on to the second level. There are 8 worlds with 4 levels in each, though there are a few warp zones that allow you to skip some of the levels. The only powerups in Super Mario Bros are the Super Mushroom that makes you bigger, the Fireflower that lets you shoot fireballs and the Starman that makes you invincible for a short time.
Super Mario World is a much bigger game. There are several worlds with many levels within each, a map in which you can decide which levels to play and many of the levels also have more than one exit, many of which are secret and allow you to access even more levels when you find them. Super Mario World has all of the powerups from Super Mario Bros plus a Power Balloon that makes you fly. Super Mario World was also the first game to feature Yoshi the dinosaur, whom you can ride on and use to attack enemies.
As for which is better, that's all a matter of personal preference. Most people will tell you that the Super Nintendo is better because it has better graphics and bigger games. The NES is an 8bit system, whereas the SNES is a 16bit system, so the SNES is twice as powerful as the NES. But which games are better all comes down to what you personally prefer. The best games on NES are certainly better than the worst games on SNES.
The NES has many of the original games in series that are still popular today, such as Super Mario Bros, The Legend of Zelda, Metroid, Castlevania and Final Fantasy. The SNES has games from those series as well, but not many series actually started out on the SNES. Both systems have a lot of fun games, so it basically comes down to how important graphics are to you.
You don't have to get an SNES to play Super Mario World, you could just buy it on Virtual Console on the Wii. Although it isn't Mario, I'd recommend a Zelda game, like The Wind Waker, Ocarina of Time or Twilight Princess. You have a bunch of Mario games, though. You could try buying the first Super Mario Bros. on Virtual Console on the Wii too, that was a pretty good game. Otherwise, I think the only Mario games you don't have that's on a system newer than the Nintendo 64 and isn't a Mario Party are:
-Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour, a fun game to play with others -Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story, I can't tell since I don't have it but I'm sure it isn't a bad game -Luigi's Mansion is a fun game, you play as Luigi for once as you travel across a haunted mansion trying to find Mario -Mario Super Sluggers is a really fun game, I wasn't expecting it to be that fun. Single player is long and you travel across worlds to different stadiums. There's also other modes like Toy Field mode and mini-games, which are fun to play with others -Super Paper Mario is a pretty cool game, and would be a good choice if you beat and liked The Thousand Year Door -Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games or Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games are fun games, especially fun to play multiplayer and single player is even fun, since you earn emblems and trophies and stuff like that.
