It's no doubt that those wonders crated the building technoly of today with the invetion of the crane by the acients that enabled them now us to lift heavy weights hight into a building. The ancients dared to build high, until little more than a century ago the great pyramid remained the tallest structure on earth, only with modern engineering have we mastered the technology to build higher giving rise to our fine skyscrapes and even buildings made of glass.

The proportion of that pyramid learns respect. The ancients also took resks to build the impossible but now nothing is left to chance. They actually gave us the confidence to build the most daring structures today. Thanks to them, today's creations stretch to the heavens but their foundations are embedde deep in the past. Although all seven wonders lay inside the ancient Greek Empire, only one stood in main land Greece. In the Fifth century B.C Greece was invaded by the Persian army and later they took Athens destryoing much of the city but the Greeks fought back and defeated the Persians and Athens was rich from the spoils of war. The Greeks built monments glorifing their victory and from that time on a number of wonderful structures started to be built in that particular region of the ancient world.
