Alexander and Tony Black


Born for the entertainment business in 1989, Alex Black hails from Redwood City, California. Alex, along with 14 year-old brother Tony (who also acts), expressed a desire to be on television at a young age. Alex was soon seen in numerous magazine ads and billboards. Alex’s first film was as the young lead (co-starring with brother Tony) in the critically acclaimed independent film, “Blue-green”. Alex won the “Best Actor” award in the FMPTA Film Festival for this role, playing a mentally challenged boy who befriends a turtle. Alex then co-starred in “DesertSaints”, a feature film with Emmy award winner Kiefer Sutherland starring. The film features Kiefer as a hit man, with Alex as a witness (or possible victim?) in a race across the Mexican desert. Touchstone Pictures then cast Alex (along with brother Tony, once more) as the younger version of the lead (Jake Gillenhaal) in “Bubble Boy”. This is a romantic comedy, swiftly becoming a cult classic. This film also involves arace across the country, but a comedic one, as “Jimmy” has many hysterical adventures in his “bubble”. Alex then filmed the highly anticipated Columbia Pictures’ “Spider-Man”, starring Tobey Maguire, Willem Dafoe and Kirsten Dunst. Alex was fortunate enough to work with all three stars, during some exciting scenes in the film. Alex is the lead, along with Pedro Shanahan,in the independent film “Borderland”. This film is a modern day Don Quixotestory. The Don’s cause, in this case, is freeing Mexican illegals from abusive vigilante ranchers. Alex (T.J./Tommy) is transformed from a shy introvert, to a courageous, chivalrous and charismatic speech writer and giver,who ultimately becomes the new “Don”. Alex narrates the film, as well. “Borderland” will premiere at the L.A. Film Festival in June,2002. Alex’s television credits include co-starring as “Patrick Cassidy” in NBC’s movie-of-the-week “The David Cassidy Story”. Guest star appearances include “Angel” and “The New Unsolved Mysteries”in the true story from which the events from the blockbuster film, “The Sixth Sense” was based upon. Most recently, Alex guest starred as “Tyler, the Firestarter” on WB’s “Charmed”. It also aired on TNT. Alex loves all animals, enjoys horseback-riding, and is a great fan of dogs and cats. He enjoys singing, hip-hop dancing and loves performing. A pro basketball fan, Alex also enjoys playing the sport, as well as soccer and football. Video games, playing pool, swimming and rollerblading are favorite pastimes. Alex makes time for charity work (most notably children’s charities), as it is very important to him.

Tony, along with 12 year-old brother Alex (who also acts), expressed a strong desire to beon television and in film at a young age. Tony was soon seen in numerous magazine ads and billboards. He is often called “instinctive” in hisacting. Tony’s first film was as the young lead (co-starring with brother Alex) in the critically acclaimed independent film, “Blue-green”. Tony won the “Best Actor” award in the FMPTA Film Festival for this role, playing a boy with a mentally challenged brother whom he must care for, as their mother died in childbirth, and their father is an alcoholic. It was a moving role, and one that Tony gives credit for much of his emoting abilities. Tony then co-starred in “Falkland Man”, a feature film with Hector Riviera starring. The film is a martial arts film (Hector is usually seen alongside Jean-Claude Van Damme in his movies), with Tony in a supporting role. Touchstone Pictures then cast Tony (along with brother Alex, once more) as the younger version of the lead (Jake Gillenhaal) in “Bubble Boy”. This is a romantic comedy, swiftly becoming a cult classic. This film also involves a race across the country, but a comedic one, as “Jimmy” has many hysterical adventures in his “bubble”. Tony’s television credits include a recurring role as a member of a boy band in the Disney Channel pilot “WebGirl”. It’s a comedy involving an advice column on the internet. Tony was recently interviewed on “Kids Talk”, which aired several times. Tony enjoys horse back-riding, and loves animals in general. He is a highly trained hip-hop dancer and singer. He loves playing most sports, as well as video games, pool, rollerblading, skateboarding and swimming. Tony loves doing charity work (most notably children’s charities), as it is of the utmost importance to him.
