On The Plus Side: Fashion Sweatshirts & Winter Woes

Vintage coat: gift from BKLYN Dry Goods; Sweatshirt: Just My Size; Leggings: Lane Bryant; Bag: DKNY (similar); Pumps: Barefoot Tess (similar)

Although this isn’t the worst winter I’ve endured living in NYC, the cold air is starting to get to me. I don’t participate in Polar Vortex/Latest Named Storm hysteria, but when it feels like negative degrees, you’ll be hard pressed to convince me to leave the comfort of my apartment. When I do, I scurry between the sunny spots and I’ve become quite adept at hiding behind anything (or anyone) just to block the wind.

Naturally this hasn’t lead to many fashion moments, if at all. I’ve been snuggling in my very favorite Just My Size sweatshirts that I picked up a couple of years ago in Maine for around $4. I’ve stopped myself at just two colors because I would buy every single one I could find if I could. I’ve started reaching for jewel tones just to lift my spirits away from the bitter cold. With every beauty brand releasing spring collections this month, it’s difficult not to reach for bright pinks and happy greens.

Bee bracelet: Emily Elizabeth Jewelry; Watch: Runba Time; Lipstick: CoverGirl Bombshell

Until the thermometer registers above 40 degrees, you’ll find me in fashion sweatshirts and sweatpants, piled with accessories and a bright lip. Is it March yet?
