Beauty Best: Philosophy Miracle Worker Overnight

I strive to have a “wonderful relationship with time” every day, but I’d love it even more if my skin was able to turn back time (thanks Cher). The truth is that up to 90% of aging is due to sun damage and a variety of other factors, including the environment, accounts for the rest. It’s like being on a runaway freight train with no conductor. At some point, everything just falls apart.

But researchers at Philosophy don’t think that has to be the ending to our story. Instead of taking a traditional approach to prevention, they uncovered that there’s an evil, age-accelerating protein called progerin subversively contributing to our natural aging process. Based on that research, they created an age-resetting complex that helps to target and trigger the self destruction of progerin. This complex, along with vitamin c and pepties, have incorporated it into Miracle Worker Overnight ($68), Philosophy’s newest anti-aging night cream.

I’ve had my hands on a jar for few weeks now, and I was initially shocked at how similar the texture is to a lotion. I expect night creams to be thick, heavy, and leave my face feeling ultra slick, but that wasn’t the case with Miracle Worker Overnight. It immediately sinks into my skin and hydrates without leaving product all over my pillowcase. I even let my mom use it on her very dry skin to similar results. In the morning, my skin looks bright, thanks to the vitamin c, and feels super soft.

To increase your chances of having a miraculous morning (wink wink, nudge nudge), Philosophy teamed up with all-around life guru and NYT bestselling author Gabrielle Bernstein for a series of tips. The most shocking to me was Gabby’s insistence that we eat before our first sip of coffee in the morning. This reasoning and her other tips are below, or you can follow along on Instagram under the hashtag #miraculousmornings.
